Fines Increase for "Oral Advertising" in Monterey
News

MONTEREY - On Tuesday, the Monterey City Council voted to increase fines for what it's calling "Oral Advertising" on the Fisherman's Wharf.

Restaurant employees are not allowed to stand out front and solicit visitors to come inside. The council voted to increase the fine from $250 dollars to $1,000 dollars.  The next step in all this is to ban restaurants from serving clam chowder in front of their restaurants.
