It was held at the Monterey Fairgrounds.

MONTEREY, Calif. -- A search is underway off the Monterey shoreline for a missing male diver from Marin County.

According to the Monterey Fire Department, the diver reportedly went missing into the bay around 11 Sunday morning. Authorities say the diver's truck is parked at the San Carlos Beach parking lot. Officials say they found a flashlight in the water, but it's unknown if it belongs to the missing man.

Right now, a Coast Guard helicopter is responding, along with Monterey Police and Fire and lifeguards with California State Parks.

CARMEL VALLEY, Calif. -- A fire hydrant started gushing water Friday afternoon after a county employee accidentally bumped into it.   It happened around 1:00 p.m. along Carmel Valley Road near Los Arboles.  A Monterey County Public Works employee hit the fire hydrant while doing some weed work along the roadway.  The hydrant flew off with thousands of gallons of water pouring out each minute, firefighters said.   Traffic was backed up in the area for about an hour.  Crews were able to shut the water off around 2:00 p.m.

CARMEL, Calif.-  The home of a Carmel city employee is searched by police, while he and a co-worker are put on administrative leave.  It's a story police are keeping close to the vest, as we try to get more information.

According to the Carmel Pine Cone, the city's IT manager and a full-time computer tech are on paid administrative leave because of an internal investigation.  We went to Carmel in search of answers because were talking about public employees.  But it's a story the city isn't saying much about and police are practically mum on the issue.

"I can give you information that we're doing an investigation.  I can't tell you who it is and I can just tell you its involving a personnel matter," said Carmel Police Chief Michael Calhoun.

We did learn a search warrant for Carmel IT Manager Steve McInchak was requested from a Monterey County judge last Wednesday.  The department's police logs on June 5th, show a three hour

Arkansas Woman Indicted For Defrauding the Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute

SAN JOSE, Calif. -- The U.S. Department of Justice announced an Arkansas Woman has been indicted for defrauding the Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute.

The U.S. Attorney's Office said a Federal Grand Jury in San Jose indicted Lisa McMahon of Mountain View, Arkansas for wire fraud and theft from MBARI.

MBARI is a non-profit organization for research and education in ocean science and technology. They have a station located in Moss Landing, CA. Research for MBARI is partially paid for by the federal government.
